Country-Made Pistol and Three Live Rounds Recovered Near South Park

JAMSHEDPUR – Police detained a 24-year-old man near South Park after he was found carrying an illegal firearm and live ammunition.
The action started after officers received a tip-off about suspicious movement near Chinmaya School. However, a patrol team soon located Aditya Jha, also known as Sanny, in a doubtful state.
Moreover, officers checked him and found a country-made pistol tucked in his jeans.
They also recovered three live cartridges from his pocket. Besides, the raid team was formed under directions of senior officers.
On the other hand, the operation was led by the Bistupur officer in charge Alok Kumar Dube.
The accused is a resident of Bagbera under East Singhbhum district. Meanwhile, a case was lodged at Bistupur police station after the seizure.
He was later remanded to judicial custody.
City SP Kumar Shivashish stated that the youth had a criminal past. In addition, he had been named in four cases between 2020 and 2024, including assault and attempt-to-murder charges.
Furthermore, the SP noted that police recovered around 105 illegal firearms from the district in the past year.
Earlier operations in Jamshedpur included arrests in a snatching case and swift work in the Bistupur shooting.
In addition, major crackdowns involved a gangster arrest and testimonies in an Al-Qaeda trial.
There was also an earlier attack attempt case that remained under investigation.
