JAMSHEDPUR – JIMS Hospital and SIMS Hospital unveiled their partnership on Sunday to enhance healthcare access in eastern India, launching an Information Center and Outreach Clinic in the city.
The inauguration ceremony featured Jharkhand Minority Commission Chairman Hidayatullah Khan as chief guest. JIMS Chairman Krishna Kumar Gupta attended alongside SIMS Hospital proprietor Rahmat Saeed Khan. Renowned cardiologist Dr. N K Das also participated in the event.
A large multispecialty health camp marked the launch. Free doctor consultations were provided to attendees. Health screenings formed part of the initiative. Moreover, awareness activities drew significant public participation.
The Information Center will connect Jharkhand patients with JIMS super-specialty doctors. Specialists will visit Jamshedpur regularly for consultations. However, patients can receive guidance locally without traveling to Kolkata.
JIMS accepts Ayushman Bharat cards for treatment. This coverage makes healthcare more affordable. In addition, it expands access for economically weaker sections.
Chairman Gupta expressed pride in establishing the center. The facility will provide access to 26 super-specialty services. Furthermore, it aims to serve state residents with world-class medical care.
JIMS Hospital operates from Budge Budge in Kolkata. The NABH-accredited facility functions as both hospital and medical college. It employs over 300 specialist doctors across departments.
The hospital features modern diagnostic equipment. Advanced treatment facilities serve diverse medical needs. Community health services form part of its outreach programs.
This partnership strengthens healthcare infrastructure in Jharkhand. Patients can now access multi-specialty care locally. On the other hand, it reduces the need for interstate travel.
The collaboration brings super-specialty expertise closer to residents. Regular specialist visits will ensure continuity of care. Meanwhile, the local healthcare ecosystem gains from knowledge transfer and coordination.
SIMS Hospital’s existing presence in Jamshedpur complements JIMS capabilities. The partnership leverages strengths of both institutions. Besides, it creates a referral network for complex medical cases.
The Information Center will operate as a bridge facility. Patient records can be shared with Kolkata specialists. In contrast to earlier arrangements, response time has improved significantly.
Cancer screening and treatment options expand through this partnership. Cardiac care receives special focus given regional needs. Additionally, orthopedic and neurological services become more accessible.
