SERAIKELA – Sub-Commissioner Parul Singh conducted a surprise inspection at Seraikela Nagar Nigam office on Sunday following conditional withdrawal of hunger strike by former corporators.

The former corporators had staged a hunger strike on Saturday. It was held at the Nagar Nigam office premises. The protest was called off late Saturday evening. However, it ended only after the Deputy Commissioner’s assurance.

The corporators set specific conditions before ending their protest. They demanded a meeting with Nagar Nigam administration on Monday. Moreover, they insisted on immediate cleaning of garbage near the premises. The Deputy Commissioner agreed to address their concerns.

Sub-Commissioner Parul Singh visited the protest site on Saturday. She assured the corporators about cleanliness arrangements. In addition, she promised action before Monday’s scheduled meeting. Subsequently, she issued necessary directions to the concerned agency.

Singh arrived unannounced at the office on Sunday. Her sudden visit caught Nagar Nigam staff off guard. The inspection was conducted despite it being a holiday. She came to assess the progress of cleaning work.

The Sub-Commissioner found several shortcomings during her inspection. She reprimanded officials and employees for the lapses. Besides, she sought explanations from the responsible personnel. Her strict approach created panic in the office.

Officials rushed to the Nagar Nigam premises immediately. Agency workers also arrived at the spot quickly. They began cleaning operations following the inspection. The entire staff was mobilized for the task.

Parul Singh stated that preparations are underway at every level. The arrangements are being made for Monday’s meeting. She emphasized that no negligence would be tolerated. The administration aims to address all pending issues.

Local representatives have appreciated the Sub-Commissioner’s promptness. The general public has also praised her proactive approach. Meanwhile, all eyes are now focused on Monday’s meeting. The former corporators expect resolution of their demands.

The hunger strike had highlighted cleanliness issues in Seraikela. The Nagar Nigam area had accumulated significant garbage. Former corporators raised concerns about administrative negligence. Their protest forced the administration into action.
