Banna Gupta intensifies campaign for INDIA bloc in Ghatshila

Former minister leads door-to-door outreach for Somesh Chandra Soren

Key Points:

  • Banna Gupta camping in Ghatshila for INDIA bloc win
  • Appeals to voters to support Somesh Chandra Soren
  • JMM confident of emotional connect with late Ramdas Soren’s legacy

JAMSHEDPUR – Former minister Banna Gupta has launched an intensive campaign in Ghatshila to ensure the victory of INDIA bloc candidate Somesh Chandra Soren.

Banna Gupta, a senior Congress leader and former Jharkhand Health Minister, has been camping in Ghatshila. He is leading a vigorous outreach campaign across villages to boost support for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s candidate.

Moreover, Gupta is meeting voters personally. He is urging them to elect Somesh Chandra Soren with a decisive mandate. “People of Ghatshila will honour the legacy of the late Ramdas Soren by electing his brother,” Gupta said during one of his interactions.

Meanwhile, the INDIA bloc has mobilized all its grassroots workers. They are conducting door-to-door visits, appealing to voters to back Soren as a tribute to the late MLA Ramdas Soren, whose demise necessitated the bypoll.

On the other hand, BJP and AJSU Party have also intensified their campaign efforts. Both parties are focusing on development and local governance issues to counter the emotional appeal of the INDIA bloc. Polling for the Ghatshila by-election is expected to witness a close contest, with security forces and Election Commission officials fully prepared.

The bypoll has emerged as a major political test for the ruling alliance in Jharkhand. Its outcome could influence political alignments ahead of the 2026 state assembly elections.
