Thieves Break Into MV Jewellery in Bengabad Market at Night

Key Points:

  • Burglary at MV Jewellery in Bengabad causes ₹23 lakh loss
  • Thieves break wall to enter shop and steal gold, silver ornaments
  • Police begin investigation amid traders’ anger and public outrage

GIRIDIH – A major burglary occurred in Giridih’s Bengabad market when unidentified thieves looted jewellery worth about ₹23 lakh from a shop on Saturday night.

The incident took place at MV Jewellery, located in the main market area. According to police sources, the burglars broke through the rear wall of the shop to gain entry. Once inside, they stole a large quantity of gold and silver ornaments.

By morning, news of the theft spread rapidly, creating panic among local traders. Many shopkeepers and residents gathered at the scene as police reached the spot and began investigation.

However, the incident has raised serious questions about police vigilance, especially as special crime control drives were announced during the festive season by the Giridih Superintendent of Police.

Local business owners expressed frustration over the rising number of thefts in the area. “Despite repeated assurances, night patrols remain ineffective,” a trader said.

Meanwhile, police teams have begun inspecting nearby CCTV footage and are conducting searches to trace the culprits.
