Police Steps Up Security in Jamshedpur Ahead of Chhath Festival

SP Flags Off Bike Patrol Teams to Ensure Law and Order During Festivities

Key Points:

  • Police increases vigilance in Jamshedpur for Chhath celebrations
  • SP directs patrol units to maintain order and safety at ghats
  • DSP-level officers to monitor all patrols from the control room

JAMSHEDPUR – Police have strengthened security arrangements across Jamshedpur for the upcoming Chhath festival to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the event.

Under the direction of the district police chief, motorcycle patrol teams were dispatched from the Police Control Room on Saturday. The City Superintendent of Police, Kumar Shivashish, flagged off the teams and issued key operational instructions.

He said that these patrol units would be deployed in plain clothes across major Chhath ghats and intersections to prevent any untoward incident. Moreover, each team will stay alert through the night and report directly to the control room.

In addition, Deputy Superintendent of Police-level officers have been assigned to supervise the operation from the control room. The SP emphasized strict coordination between field personnel and central command.

However, recent reports suggest a rise in criminal incidents in the city over the last 24 hours. A local resident commented, “Such proactive policing before big festivals gives citizens a sense of security.”

The administration hopes this preventive strategy will help manage the large crowds expected at riverbanks and ponds during the two-day Chhath festivities.
