JAMSHEDPUR – A serious accident occurred on Friday night in Sidhgora main road when a sand-laden Hyva truck hit a tempo, leaving its driver badly injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the Hyva, carrying illegal sand, turned toward Cross Road 12. The driver suddenly tried to reverse, colliding with a tempo coming from behind. The tempo driver sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals.

After the accident, the Hyva driver abandoned the truck and fled the spot. Locals, angered by the incident, blocked the road and staged a protest.

Sidhgora police reached the site, pacified the crowd, and worked to clear the jam. Normal traffic resumed only after significant efforts.

Police seized the sand-laden Hyva and started searching for the absconding driver. Residents alleged that illegal sand transport was to blame for the accident. They demanded that the administration take strict action to stop such practices to prevent future mishaps.

Investigations into the case are underway.
