JAMSHEDPUR – Ganesh Utsav celebrations in Jamshedpur witnessed a unique tradition at Kitadih Boys Club where the Ganpati laddu auction took place.

This year, a 5 kg laddu was auctioned for ₹70,000, purchased by the family of Joginder Rao. The starting bid began at ₹500, and devotees participated enthusiastically, bidding according to their means.

Last year, the 5 kg laddu fetched ₹55,000. However, this time the bidding amount increased significantly. After winning the laddu, the Rao family expressed joy, describing it as the blessing of Lord Ganesha.

A family member said, “We participate every year. This year, we had decided to buy the laddu, no matter the price.”

According to the organizing committee, devotees with deep faith in Ganpati take part with great zeal in the bidding process. Since 1983, the club has been organizing Ganesh Utsav with community participation.

The celebrations concluded with the grand immersion of Ganpati in the evening.
