Official Assures Temporary Solution Following Waste Management Demands

JAMSHEDPUR – Block Development Officer inspected accumulated garbage on main roads in Bagbera area on July 23 following protests by Bagbera Metropolitan Development Committee.

The inspection came after committee demonstrations at Deputy Commissioner’s office. Members also protested at block office demanding immediate action. Moreover, officials assured quick cleaning and temporary solutions.

Committee Chairman and District BJP headquarters in-charge Subodh Jha led protests. The organization demanded implementation of rural water supply scheme. Furthermore, they sought timely ration distribution for local consumers.

Protesters raised concerns about garbage heaps across settlements. Main roads remained blocked with accumulated waste materials. Meanwhile, committee members demanded inclusion of Bagbera panchayat in municipal corporation.

Earlier demonstrations occurred on June 24-25 at block office. Committee submitted memorandum highlighting multiple civic issues demanding resolution. In addition, repeated appeals were made to district administration.

District administration ordered Tata Steel Urban Services intervention initially. Waste collection operated for two-three days across locations. However, garbage lifting operations stopped after brief period.

Subodh Jha met Deputy Commissioner on July 22 seeking solutions. The delegation appealed for permanent waste management arrangements. On the other hand, officials promised inspection and remedial measures.

Today’s inspection covered all major garbage accumulation sites. Block Development Officer examined waste conditions across affected areas. Furthermore, other officials accompanied the assessment team.

Committee delegation included convener Vinod Kumar during Deputy Commissioner meeting. Members Manoj Singh and Vinay Singh participated actively. Moreover, women’s wing president Ritu Singh joined the initiative.

Convener Pavitra Pandey also supported the waste management campaign. Committee representatives emphasized urgent need for permanent solutions. Meanwhile, residents continue facing health hazards from accumulated garbage.
