JAMSHEDPUR – Rajasthani women celebrated Sindhara festival with traditional swing ceremonies, mehndi application, cultural games and regional cuisine at a community event in Sakchi.
The celebration took place on July 20. Three organizations jointly organized the event. Purvi Singhbhum Zila Agarwal Sammelan collaborated with Marwari Yuva Manch. Lions Club of Jamshedpur Premium also participated as organizer.
The venue was Ramgarhia Sabha in Sakchi area. Organizers decorated the hall with Rajwada theme. Traditional royal palace motifs adorned the celebration space.
A beautifully decorated swing formed the centerpiece. Women enjoyed swinging on the traditional jhula. However, the event offered much more than swinging activities.
Multiple stalls provided various services and products. Mehndi artists decorated women’s hands with intricate designs. Bangle sellers displayed colorful chooda collections. Moreover, churan and candy vendors attracted children and adults.
Approximately 500 women attended the cultural program. Participants wore vibrant green, yellow, red colors. Additionally, blue outfits added to the festive atmosphere.
The event featured diverse entertainment activities. Musical tambola game drew enthusiastic participation. Sawan Queen competition crowned the most elegantly dressed woman. Furthermore, devrani-jethani games created playful moments between family members.
Group dance performances showcased traditional Rajasthani moves. Children’s dance competitions encouraged young talent. Meanwhile, housie games provided additional entertainment options.
Prize distribution ceremony rewarded winners generously. The Sawan Queen received a smartphone as grand prize. Other participants won various gifts and recognition.
Beauty services enhanced the festive experience. Professional mehndi artists served attending women. Various makeup and styling options were available. Subsequently, participants walked the ramp wearing complete solah shringar.
The food section offered extensive culinary variety. Club kachori served with spicy potato curry delighted guests. Sweet jalebi provided traditional dessert options. However, fusion items like chow mein manchurian attracted younger attendees.
Street food stalls included multiple regional specialties. Momos and American dosa represented continental influences. Chat, puchka and bhelmuri offered popular snacks. Additionally, pasta and pav bhaji satisfied diverse tastes.
Beverage options ranged from traditional tea to modern mocktails. Fried rice complemented the meal selections. Nevertheless, Bihar’s famous litti chokha emerged as crowd favorite.
Several women contributed significantly to event organization. Jyoti Agarwal led the planning committee. Mamta Munka coordinated cultural activities. Meanwhile, Varsha Chaudhary managed logistics arrangements.
Muskaan Agarwal supervised decoration work. Shriji Garg handled participant registration. Moreover, Manisha Sanghi coordinated food arrangements.
