Karim City College Rotaract Club Organizes Health Awareness Program
Students receive menstrual hygiene education and sanitary napkin distribution

JAMSHEDPUR – Karim City College’s Rotaract Club organized a comprehensive health and hygiene awareness program for female students at Central Karimia High School Intermediate Section.
The program titled “Building A Healthy Future” was conducted in collaboration with the college’s Women’s Cell. The initiative aimed to break the silence surrounding women’s hygiene awareness. Moreover, the event focused on sanitary napkin distribution and community engagement.
Dr Kauser Tasneem, coordinator of the Women’s Cell, led the session. She emphasized the critical need for health awareness among students. Furthermore, she highlighted the high levels of anemia in Indian women.
The session educated girls about proper nutrition and physical activity. Dr Tasneem stressed the importance of maintaining good health practices. In addition, she addressed various health-related concerns affecting young women.
Student representatives from Rotaract Club and Women’s Cell participated actively. Zareen Abedi, Afsana Khatun, Farhat, Priyanka, Ritika, Sania Akhtar and Sujata conducted the program. However, they organized an extremely informative and interactive session with students.
The program addressed myths and taboos related to menstrual cycles. Environmental-friendly products were promoted during the awareness session. Meanwhile, the initiative helped clear doubts about menstrual health among participants.
P Ashish Kumar and Ayush Pathak served as program organizers. They also acted as resource providers for the event. On the other hand, the collaborative effort demonstrated effective community outreach.
The health awareness program successfully reached 72 students. These participants gained valuable knowledge about menstrual hygiene and health practices. Besides, the initiative contributed to breaking social stigmas surrounding women’s health issues.
