JAMSHEDPUR – The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of NIT Jamshedpur held a Republic Day Blood Donation Campaign at DJLHC, NIT Jamshedpur. The initiative, supported by Shree Shanidev Bhakt Mandali (Trust) and Brahmanand Blood Centre, focused on encouraging social responsibility and improving community well-being.
Event Highlights and Leadership Presence
The event began at 9:00 AM with a lamp lighting ceremony. Distinguished attendees included Director Prof. Gautam Sutradhar, Deputy Director Dr. Ram Vinoy Sharma, Registrar Colonel Dr. Nisheeth Kumar Rai (Retd), and Dean of Student Welfare Dr. R.P. Singh, along with 1962 batch alumnus Chittaranjan Sahay and NYK District Youth Officer Ms. Anjali. In his inaugural address, Prof. Sutradhar emphasized blood donation as a noble act that strengthens community ties.
Impressive Participation and Volunteer Coordination
The campaign witnessed over 300 registrations, leading to the collection of 251 units of blood. Dr. Jayendra Kumar, NSS Program Coordinator, orchestrated the event with support from committed volunteers who ensured smooth operations and actively promoted awareness.

Expressing gratitude, Dr. Jayendra said, “This event reflects our institute’s dedication to societal well-being. Every contribution strengthens the fabric of our society.” Concluding with the National Anthem at 5:00 PM, the initiative inspired the youth to address critical social challenges.
