SERAIKELA – The Seraikela Excise Department achieved a significant breakthrough with the seizure of illegal liquor worth ₹5 lakh in Gamharia. Acting on a tip-off, the department raided an unauthorized warehouse storing Goa-made liquor, which is banned in Jharkhand. Additionally, a large cache of counterfeit English liquor bottles was also recovered.
The raid led to chaos in the area as officials reached the site. The illicit liquor was reportedly stored in a makeshift warehouse inside a mud house. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the liquor was meant for illegal distribution within the region.
Action Against the Operator
Authorities have lodged a case against the operator of the warehouse and initiated the process for their arrest. The department aims to dismantle the entire network associated with the illegal trade.
