SERAIKELA – The Seraikela Excise Department achieved a significant breakthrough with the seizure of illegal liquor worth ₹5 lakh in Gamharia. Acting on a tip-off, the department raided an unauthorized warehouse storing Goa-made liquor, which is banned in Jharkhand. Additionally, a large cache of counterfeit English liquor bottles was also recovered.

The raid led to chaos in the area as officials reached the site. The illicit liquor was reportedly stored in a makeshift warehouse inside a mud house. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the liquor was meant for illegal distribution within the region.

Action Against the Operator

Authorities have lodged a case against the operator of the warehouse and initiated the process for their arrest. The department aims to dismantle the entire network associated with the illegal trade.

Growing Concerns Over Illicit Liquor

The raid highlights the persistent issue of unauthorized liquor operations in Jharkhand, which pose a challenge to public health and safety. The excise department continues to intensify its efforts to curb such activities in the state.
