JAMSHEDPUR – A 25-year-old laborer died after being struck by lightning while seeking shelter under a tree during heavy rainfall in Kadamdih area.

Shiv Shankar Mahato was returning home from work on Sunday evening. Heavy rain began falling in the area. He took shelter under a tree to avoid getting wet.

However, lightning struck suddenly during the downpour. The victim was instantly electrocuted at the spot. He died immediately from the severe burns.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s brother Jeetan Mahato provided details about the family situation. The victim’s wife is currently eight months pregnant. The family is devastated by the sudden loss.

Local residents rushed to the scene after the incident. They immediately informed the police about the tragedy. Sundarnagar police station officers arrived at the location promptly.

Moreover, authorities sent the body for post-mortem examination. The body was later handed over to family members. The victim worked as a daily wage laborer to support his family.

In addition, the pregnant wife is inconsolable after losing her husband. Family members are struggling to cope with the tragedy. The incident has shocked the entire neighborhood.

Lightning strikes are common during monsoon season in Jharkhand. The state witnesses several such deaths annually. Weather experts advise avoiding trees during thunderstorms.

Furthermore, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. The case is being treated as an accidental death. No foul play is suspected in the incident.

The victim leaves behind his pregnant wife and other family members. The family is now facing financial difficulties without the primary breadwinner. Local community members are providing support during this difficult time.
