JAMSHEDPUR – Local South Indian classical musicians gathered at Madrasi Sammelani to pay homage to legendary Carnatic composer Thyagaraja through performances.

The event showcased the rich heritage of Carnatic classical music. Meanwhile, eight talented local artists presented various compositions.

Musical Performances

The artists performed the sacred Pancha Ratna kritis with deep devotion. “These compositions represent the pinnacle of Carnatic classical music,” noted a music expert.

Manga Thayaru and Shailaja presented melodious renditions of devotional songs. Moreover, Usha Rajan and Gayatri impressed the audience with their vocal prowess.

Traditional Ceremonies

The program commenced with a traditional garlanding ceremony of Thyagaraja’s portrait. Additionally, all performers participated in paying respects to the legendary composer.
