JAMSHEDPUR – The Bagbera Mahanagar Vikas Samiti organized its 600th protest demanding implementation of the rural water supply scheme.

The demonstration took place at Ramnagar Hanuman Mandir Chowk. Residents demanded formation of a municipal council.

Moreover, they sought integration with Jugsalai Municipality. The scheme affects 2.25 lakh people across 113 villages.

Meanwhile, BJP District President Sudhanshu Ojha criticized the state government’s approach. He highlighted former CM Raghubar Das’s role.

“We fully support the villagers’ legitimate demands,” remarked a senior protest organizer.

Legal Action Planned

The committee has decided to approach the Jharkhand High Court. They seek investigation into three water projects.

Furthermore, these projects have a combined value of Rs 290 crore. The committee alleges financial discrepancies.

Escalation Strategy

The protest movement plans to expand its reach. One-day demonstrations will occur in every affected village.

Additionally, the committee submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister. They routed it through the Deputy Commissioner.

Future Course

Committee conveners outlined their next steps. They announced plans for Assembly and Parliament protests.

Moreover, the movement will soon shift to Gandhinagar. Leaders from various villages participated actively.

On the other hand, the Drinking Water Department faces criticism. Their court-documented assurances remain unfulfilled.
