Kolhan DIG to investigate Shashtri Nagar incident, Raghubar Das speaks to DGP

Ex-CM Raghubar Das meets jailed BJP leaders, speaks to DGP, says DIG will probe Shastri Nagar incident, accuses Hemant Soren govt of misusing power.

Jamshedpur: The Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and National Vice President of BJP, Raghubar Das, has spoken with the DGP Ajay Kumar Singh on the Shashtri Nagar incident issue. He was assured by the latter that the Shastri Nagar incident would be investigated by the DIG of Kolhan.

Earlier, Raghubar Das met BJP leaders in judicial custody at Central Jail, Ghaghidih, Monday morning in connection with the Shastri Nagar incident.

He said that he wanted to understand the circumstances that led to their imprisonment.

Following the meeting, Das informed the media about a telephonic conversation with the Director General of Police (DGP), Ajay Kumar Singh.

Das claimed that innocent people had been accused in the Shastri Nagar incident and requested the DGP to instruct the SSP to investigate and remove their names.

In response, the DGP assured Das that the DIG of Kolhan would investigate the matter.

Das expressed optimism about the DGP’s positive assurance and hoped that the DIG would uncover the facts and exonerate the innocent in his supervision report.

Das was accompanied by former MLA Maneka Sardar, BJP Mahanagar President Gunjan Yadav, General Secretary Rakesh Singh, former District President Rambabu Tiwari, and others during his visit to the Central Jail.

Das accused the Hemant Soren government of misusing power and stated that many people were arrested merely for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram.

He also mentioned that the office bearers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad were arrested and locked up when they tried to submit a memorandum to the SSP.

Labeling the Shastri Nagar violence as unfortunate, Das said that the district administration could have prevented the situation from escalating if they had acted promptly.
