MEDININAGAR – A sudden fire engulfed an inspection vehicle stationed in the yard of Garhwa Road Junction (Rehla Station) on Thursday at 1:35 PM, disrupting railway operations for two hours.

Prompt Response by Firefighters

The inspection vehicle, parked at Yard One overnight, was consumed by flames. Railway officials called upon Grasim Industries for firefighting support. A team of firefighters from Grasim Industries, led by their unit head, Hitendra Keshav Awasthi, rushed to the site. After two hours of rigorous effort, the fire was successfully extinguished.

Impact on Railway Operations

Both up and down lines were temporarily closed during the incident. Passenger and goods trains were halted at various stations, causing inconvenience to travelers. The operations resumed after ensuring safety protocols.

Investigation Underway

Station Manager Satish Kumar stated that the cause of the fire remains unknown, with suspicions pointing to a possible short circuit. Officials are still assessing the total damage caused by the blaze.

Railway Police Inspector Banarasi Yadav, along with Rehla Police Station In-charge Santosh Kumar, and several railway officials, were present at the scene to oversee the situation.
