JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel strengthened its sports infrastructure with the inauguration of renovated handball and futsal facilities at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services, led the inauguration ceremony. Moreover, several key officials attended this significant development in the city’s sports landscape.
Futsal Facility Features
The new futsal court spans 40m x 25m with advanced features. Furthermore, it incorporates Tiger Turf Championship 50 synthetic turf.
The facility meets international standards with specialized goalposts. Additionally, it uses FIFA-approved polyethylene monofilament technology.
Handball Court Specifications
JUSCO provided the asphalt sub-base for the handball facility. Meanwhile, the court covers an area of 43.92m x 24.45m.
The Australian-manufactured acrylic surface offers versatility. Besides, it supports multiple sports including tennis and basketball.
Community Impact
The facilities mark a significant upgrade to local sports infrastructure. On the other hand, they create new training opportunities for aspiring athletes.
Senior officials including Tata Workers Union President Sanjeev Choudhary attended the event. Additionally, Chief Sports Officer Mukul Vinayak Choudhari and other dignitaries marked their presence.
