Traffic Drive in West Singhbhum Nets ₹1.39 Lakh in Fines

Over 1,300 Vehicles Inspected, Strict Penalties Imposed

CHAIBASA – West Singhbhum’s Superintendent of Police (SP) intensified traffic inspections under a special road safety campaign. Over the past week, police personnel conducted thorough checks on two-wheelers and four-wheelers, collecting ₹1.39 lakh in fines.

Comprehensive Vehicle Checks Conducted

The campaign inspected 931 two-wheelers and 429 four-wheelers. Violations included riding without helmets, triple riding, rash driving, driving without seat belts, and driving without licenses. Notably, a minor was caught riding a bike without a license, and one motorist was found driving under the influence.

Crime Prevention Efforts

The SP stated that the campaign also aimed to combat crime, focusing on arresting offenders and confiscating illegal firearms, alcohol, and narcotics. This dual-purpose initiative underscores the importance of maintaining law and order alongside road safety.

Appeal for Compliance

Authorities urged the public to adhere to traffic regulations and emphasized the dangers of drinking and driving. The SP personally appealed to drivers to exercise caution and follow safety norms to prevent accidents and save lives.
