CM to Distribute Double Installment at Namkum Event on January 6

Key Points:

  • Monthly assistance increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 after 2024 elections
  • December payment delayed due to former PM Manmohan Singh’s demise
  • Traffic diversions announced in Ranchi for distribution ceremony

RANCHI – The Jharkhand government will transfer Rs 5,000 to over 56 lakh women beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana this January.

The scheme’s monthly assistance has seen a significant increase. The amount rose from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 after recent elections.

“Economic empowerment of women remains our priority,” remarked a senior government official. Meanwhile, beneficiaries will receive combined payments for two months.

Enhanced Support

The double installment covers December 2024 and January 2025. However, December’s distribution was postponed due to Dr. Manmohan Singh’s passing.

“This support helps families plan better futures,” noted a scheme beneficiary. Furthermore, JMM’s Supriyo Bhattacharya emphasized their commitment to social security.

Event Arrangements

Meanwhile, Ranchi authorities have announced traffic diversions for January 6. The changes will affect major routes from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Moreover, goods vehicles face restrictions between key checkpoints. Additionally, special parking arrangements have been made for district-wise visitors.

Security Measures

However, VVIPs and senior officials can access the venue through designated routes. Besides, a Quick Response Team will monitor traffic flow.

“All security measures are in place,” confirmed a district administration source. Furthermore, sector magistrates have received specific responsibilities.
