DHANBAD – In a shocking incident, criminals shot a truck driver and his helper after an altercation over tobacco near Godhar petrol pump in Dhanbad. The duo had arrived from Bihar to load coal.
The victims, identified as Uma Shankar Singh and Nitish Kumar Singh, hail from Buxar, Bihar. The driver suffered four bullet injuries, while the helper was hit twice. Both are undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Jorapathak Road.
Altercation Leads to Violence
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. when three individuals approached the parked truck and demanded tobacco. Upon being told that there was none, the assailants first resorted to verbal abuse before opening fire. Uma Shankar sustained injuries to his hands and legs, while Nitish was shot earlier during the commotion.
Police Investigation Underway
Kenduadih Police Station in-charge Waqar Hussain confirmed the attack and assured that the perpetrators would be arrested soon. “The victims are being treated, and we are actively pursuing leads to bring the criminals to justice,” he stated.
