RANCHI – On the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Jharkhand BJP began year-long celebrations as part of its centenary observance. The party commemorated Atal Jayanti on December 25 as Good Governance Day, with a special focus on Vajpayee’s life, achievements, and contributions to the nation.
Exhibition and Tributes
At the BJP state office, an exhibition showcasing Vajpayee’s life and works was inaugurated by former Chief Minister and State BJP President Babulal Marandi. Speaking at the event, Marandi remembered Vajpayee’s pivotal contributions, including the Golden Quadrilateral project, the 1999 Kargil War leadership, Pokhran nuclear tests, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He noted, “Vajpayee’s legacy is etched in the hearts of Jharkhandis, as he was instrumental in the state’s formation.”
Statewide Seminars and Discussions
The BJP has planned seminars in all districts to reflect on Vajpayee’s governance and vision. On Wednesday, senior leaders who worked alongside Vajpayee will share their experiences. Programs will highlight his initiatives like the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and village connectivity through road networks, aiming to inspire the next generation with his accomplishments.
Vajpayee, remembered as a statesman, poet, and founder of the BJP, continues to be revered for his inclusive and visionary approach to governance. “He tirelessly worked to bring villages, farmers, and marginalized communities into the mainstream,” Marandi added, emphasizing his dedication to welfare-driven politics.
