Cabinet Approves 3% Dearness Allowance Rise Effective July 2024

Key Points:

  • Government increases dearness allowance from 50% to 53% for employees
  • Cabinet clears key CAG reports for presentation in Assembly session
  • Rs 99.56 crore sanctioned for Vinoba Bhave University development

RANCHI – The Jharkhand government has announced a three percent hike in dearness allowance for its employees and pensioners.

The decision came during Tuesday’s cabinet meeting. Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired the session.

Meanwhile, the new DA rate will take effect from July 1, 2024. It applies to employees under the seventh pay commission.

Furthermore, pensioners will receive similar benefits. The dearness relief matches the employee allocation.

Audit Reports

Moreover, the cabinet cleared two significant CAG reports. These cover public health infrastructure and construction workers’ welfare.

Additionally, these reports await presentation in the upcoming assembly session. They provide crucial insights into state programs.

Educational Funding

In contrast, Vinoba Bhave University received substantial funding. The cabinet approved Rs 99.56 crore for development.

However, other decisions included promoting retired RIMS staff. This followed a High Court ruling in Dr. Tulsi Mahto’s case.

Administrative Decisions

On the other hand, mining officers received special consideration. The cabinet relaxed certain service rules.

Furthermore, the government showed humanitarian concern. They approved home guard re-enrollment for deceased personnel’s dependents.
