JAMSHEDPUR – In a major crackdown against drug peddling, the district administration in Jamshedpur seized narcotic substances worth ₹25 lakh and arrested four individuals. The operation also led to the sealing of five establishments, including medical and auto parts shops.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal, addressing a press conference, revealed that drug abuse had been fueling criminal activities in the city. “Numerous crimes were linked to drug use, with several youths resorting to criminal acts under its influence,” he said.

Large-Scale Seizure and Arrests

Acting on complaints from locals, authorities conducted raids at medical stores, auto parts shops, and residences, uncovering a significant stash of narcotic substances. A key drug supplier was apprehended, along with the confiscation of illegal substances from multiple locations.

The operation is expected to curb rising criminal activities driven by drug abuse in the region.

Community Complaints and Impact

Local residents had raised concerns about the sale of narcotics through medical shops, prompting the police to act. SSP Kaushal assured citizens that strict measures would continue to be implemented to dismantle such networks.

This decisive action underscores the administration’s commitment to addressing the nexus between drug abuse and crime.
