JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Women’s University’s NSS department initiated a two-day winter clothes donation campaign to support rural communities facing harsh winter conditions.

The NSS team has set an ambitious target of collecting over 1,000 warm clothing items during the drive. Previous year’s similar initiative had benefited more than 500 families in nearby villages.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to serving society’s vulnerable sections,” said a volunteer coordinator at the event.

Distribution Plans

The collected items will reach beneficiaries before Christmas. The university has partnered with local NGOs to ensure effective distribution.

Meanwhile, the NSS department has identified 15 villages in the region for clothing distribution.

Previous Success Stories

Last winter’s donation drive had created a significant impact in rural communities. The initiative had received recognition from the state NSS office.

Moreover, several corporate organizations have expressed interest in supporting this year’s campaign.

In addition, the university plans to make this an annual event following positive community response.
