CHAKULIA – A tigress that strayed from Odisha has killed a bull in Rajabasa forest under Kaliyam Panchayat of Chakulia block.
The incident came to light when burned remains were discovered Tuesday. “My bull had been missing since December 13,” said owner Navin Nayak.
Investigation Details
Blood stains mark the attack site in the forest. Moreover, forest officials burned the carcass remains as a safety precaution.
Local Concerns
Mukhiya Daso Hembram inspected the incident site. “The Forest Department must provide compensation within 15 days,” he demanded.
Official Response
Chakulia Forest Range Officer Digvijay Singh confirmed the incident. Furthermore, he assured compensation for the bull owner.
The department continues efforts to capture the tigress. Additionally, officials maintain restrictions on forest entry to prevent further incidents.
