SP Aman Kumar Holds Meeting with Villagers in Border Areas

KHUNTI – Following reports of villagers in West Singhbhum launching an anti-extremist operation and killing six extremists, Khunti Police has stepped into alert mode. On Thursday, SP Aman Kumar, along with his team, visited border areas of Khunti, including villages like Kenbanki and Tamba under the Rania police station.

SP Aman Kumar held meetings with villagers, local representatives, and panchayat leaders to raise awareness about various issues. The meeting was attended by Khathkhura Panchayat’s Mukhiya Manju Surin, village head Soma Munda, and Sushma Dahanga, among others.

Preventing Extremism in Khunti

Addressing the gathering, SP Aman Kumar emphasized the importance of preventing incidents like those in West Singhbhum’s Gudri area. “Villagers and local representatives must stay vigilant and share any information about extremists with the police,” he urged. Kumar assured that the police would take strict action and requested villagers to report extremist activities to the local police station.

Crackdown on Opium Cultivation

SP Aman Kumar highlighted the issue of illegal opium and cannabis cultivation. He stressed that such activities are punishable under strict national laws. Villagers were encouraged to report locations where opium is grown, and awareness campaigns would be conducted to educate people about its harmful effects.

Awareness Against Superstition and Cyber Crime

The SP also spoke about eradicating superstition, particularly the menace of witchcraft practices. He educated villagers on other social issues, including child labor, human trafficking, and traffic safety. Kumar explained the importance of helmets and seatbelts and urged people to dial 112 for crimes or emergencies and 1930 to report cyber fraud cases.

Strengthening Police-Public Relations

SP Aman Kumar emphasized building strong relations between the police and the public to create a crime-free society. Suggestions from villagers were also noted, and their grievances were heard during the session.

Torpha SDPO Khristopher Kerketta, Torpha Circle Inspector Ashok Kumar Singh, and Rania Station In-Charge Vikas Kumar Jaiswal were also present at the meeting.
