CHANDIL – Under the ‘Prahari’ initiative, Saraikela-Kharsawan Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat conducted a foot patrol in Chandil on Tuesday. The patrol began at Chandil police station and covered key areas such as Chowk Bazaar, Tanti Dam, NH-32, and Chandil Station Chowk.
The SP was accompanied by Chandil Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Circle Inspector, and other police personnel. The patrol aimed to monitor local issues and ensure public safety.
The ‘Prahari’ initiative has been launched to address key challenges, including drug abuse, public nuisance, eve-teasing, and illegal parking. The district police will conduct regular foot patrols in all police station jurisdictions to curb criminal activities and maintain law and order.
SP Mukesh Kumar emphasized that the effort is intended to restore public confidence in law enforcement and create a safer environment for residents. Police teams will also remain vigilant in markets and public spaces to prevent unlawful gatherings and harassment.
Local residents appreciated the initiative, noting that visible police presence deters anti-social behavior. Officials confirmed that such patrolling will be carried out consistently to address public concerns effectively.
