JAMSHEDPUR – Dr. Anita Gupta, the former principal of Jamshedpur Women’s College, passed away on Monday after a prolonged battle with cancer. Dr. Gupta served the institution for many years as a distinguished faculty member and administrator.

She started her career as a professor in the English department and later held the position of principal for ten years. Dr. Gupta was not only a renowned academic but also a skilled administrator. She was a founding member of the Association of British Scholars, an active Rotarian, and served as a visiting professor at XLRI.

University Mourns Her Loss

A condolence meeting was held at the Jamshedpur Women’s University campus to honor Dr. Gupta’s contributions. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Anjila Gupta expressed deep grief over the loss. She said, “The university family is deeply saddened by the demise of Dr. Anita Gupta. We pray for eternal peace for her soul.”
