RANCHI – Yogendra Prasad creates history as Gomia’s first two-term MLA, joining Hemant Soren’s cabinet.

The victory marks a significant milestone for Gomia constituency.

Moreover, Prasad secured over 95,000 votes in 2024.

His journey began in Murubanda village of Ramgarh district.

Meanwhile, he served various political roles since 1991.

Furthermore, he started as Congress District Vice President.

The political path included multiple party changes.

However, his JMM stint proved most successful.

“Every challenge strengthened my resolve,” remarked a senior party official.

Notable Achievements

His wife Babita Devi also served as Gomia MLA.

Meanwhile, he chaired the State Backward Classes Commission.

In addition, he joined the State Coordination Committee.

Political Background

The last Gomia minister served in 2000.

Moreover, it was in undivided Bihar’s cabinet.

Madhavlal Singh held the transport portfolio then.
