Key Points:

  • Saryu Roy pledges a new statue of Netaji in Kadma Park.

  • Faulty Kadma Convention Center to undergo repairs soon.

  • MLA refrains from commenting on former health minister’s accusations.

JAMSHEDPUR – MLA Saryu Roy has announced plans to restore Kadma’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Park with a prominent new statue of Netaji.

Newly elected Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy visited Kadma on Wednesday and pledged to erect a large statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the park. The park, named after the leader, once had a smaller statue, whose current whereabouts remain unknown. Roy assured residents that the park will continue to honor Bose’s legacy.

During his visit, Roy also addressed the state of the Kadma Convention Center, which has remained unopened for five years. The building suffers from water leakage and damaged false ceilings due to lack of maintenance. “Repairs will begin shortly,” Roy stated, emphasizing the urgency of restoring the facility.

Responding to accusations from former health minister Banna Gupta about creating false narratives, Roy maintained composure. “It is against our culture to attack those who have lost. He may vent his frustrations,” he remarked, refraining from further critique.

This development highlights Roy’s focus on infrastructure and heritage in Jamshedpur. The installation of Netaji’s statue and the park’s revival will strengthen cultural ties, while fixing the convention center ensures better community facilities.
