RANCHI – The electoral battleground is set for the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections, with 43 constituencies preparing for voting on November 13.
The initial round of voting encompasses 26 reserved seats, with 20 designated for Scheduled Tribes and 6 for Scheduled Castes.
Meanwhile, 17 general category seats complete the electoral matrix for phase one.
"The election machinery is fully prepared to ensure smooth and fair voting across all constituencies," stated a senior election official.
Notable Candidates in Fray
Several political heavyweights are testing their electoral fortunes in this phase.
Former JD(U) minister Saryu Rai and ex-BJP minister C.P. Singh lead the pack of veteran politicians.
The electoral arena also witnesses participation from political families.
Electoral Demographics
The voting population showcases a remarkable gender balance.
Over 68.73 lakh male voters and 68.36 lakh female voters are registered for this phase.
Additionally, 303 third-gender voters will participate in the democratic process.
Campaign Regulations
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has implemented strict guidelines for campaigning.
"Any violation of campaign rules will face immediate action under electoral laws," warned a local election observer.
Political parties must ensure their workers leave constituencies post-campaign period.
