Moreover, authorities have intensified vehicle checks at inter-state and inter-district checkpoints.
Over the past two days, these inspections have yielded seizures totaling Rs. 7.28 lakh.
However, Rs. 1.1 lakh was released after proper verification by the magistrate.
On October 16, officials seized Rs. 1,42,600 from a vehicle in Potka during routine checks.
Furthermore, the following day saw more significant seizures at the Kesharpur picket near Galudih.
Authorities recovered Rs. 2,39,600 from one pick-up vehicle at this checkpoint.
In addition, another Rs. 2,36,500 was seized from a second pick-up vehicle at the same location.
Meanwhile, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal has issued strict directives for thorough inspections.
"We are checking all types of vehicles, from two-wheelers to VIP cars," stated a senior official.
These measures aim to prevent the illegal transportation of cash, liquor, drugs, or gift items.
On the other hand, 24/7 check posts have been activated across border areas for continuous vigilance.
"Our goal is to ensure a free, fair, and fear-free election process," the official emphasized.
Notably, these heightened security measures will continue throughout the election period.
Authorities urge citizens to cooperate with checkpoint officials and carry proper documentation while traveling.
