The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, has introduced measures to ensure a smooth and transparent process, including allowing voters aged 85 and above to vote from home. To utilize this option, these voters must submit a 12D form, and their voting process will be recorded on video to maintain transparency.
In total, 2.60 crore voters are eligible to vote at 29,562 polling stations, including 5,042 in urban and 24,520 in rural areas. Each polling booth will serve an average of 881 voters. Notably, 1,271 booths will be exclusively managed by women.
During the last assembly elections in 2019, the Grand Alliance of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 47 out of 81 seats, with Hemant Soren becoming the Chief Minister. However, Soren later faced legal challenges, including a resignation due to a land scam investigation, before returning to office after securing bail.
