JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC is set to kick off its third annual grassroots football tournament, now renamed the Jamshedpur Super League, featuring an unprecedented 628 young participants.

The Jamshedpur Super League is scheduled to begin on October 18, 2024.

This extensive grassroots football initiative will run until March 2025.

Moreover, the league will showcase 70 teams competing across five age categories.

These categories range from Under-5 to Under-13 divisions.

Furthermore, the tournament will span 17 weeks, featuring a total of 475 matches.

Notably, 628 boys and girls will participate in this landmark event.

This impressive turnout underscores the club’s commitment to grassroots football development.

Additionally, the league holds the distinction of being the longest-running AIFF Blue Cubs League in India.

It aims to provide substantial playing time for young athletes.

Meanwhile, 33 teams will represent Jamshedpur FC’s Grassroots School.

The remaining 37 teams will come from various local academies and football clubs.

Interestingly, each player will receive between 165 and 600 minutes of playing time.

Kundan Chandra, Head of Youth and Grassroot, expressed pride in the league’s evolution.

He highlighted the single-leg format and increased participation as key improvements.

Furthermore, CEO Mukul Choudhary emphasized the importance of grassroots development for Indian football.

The league will adhere to AIFF Blue Cub’s League rules and regulations.

Notably, last year’s tournament earned a nomination for the AIFF Grassroot Award 2023-24.

In conclusion, this initiative represents a significant step in nurturing young football talent in Jamshedpur.
