JAMSHEDPUR – Former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar has called for a temporary suspension of vehicle checks during the Durga Puja festival to ensure uninterrupted celebrations for devotees.
The senior Congress leader penned a letter to the Senior Superintendent of Police regarding this matter.
In his appeal, Dr. Kumar highlighted the inconvenience caused by ongoing vehicle inspections.
He emphasized that families from various communities visit pandals to seek blessings.
Moreover, the former MP stressed that these checks disrupt the festive atmosphere.
"Our aim should be to provide a joyful atmosphere for everyone," Dr. Kumar stated.
He further pointed out that the beautifully decorated pandals attract visitors from outside Jamshedpur.
These out-of-town guests, according to Kumar, should also enjoy the festivities without hindrance.
The congressman urged authorities to prioritize creating a welcoming environment for all attendees.
He specifically requested a halt to helmet checks during the duration of the festival.
Dr. Kumar argued that safety measures should not come at the cost of celebratory enjoyment.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of allowing people to fully immerse in the festivities.
The former MP’s letter underscored the significance of Durga Puja in bringing communities together.
He appealed to the district administration to consider the festive spirit in their approach.
Additionally, Dr. Kumar suggested that a more relaxed stance would benefit both locals and visitors.
His request aims to strike a balance between safety concerns and festival celebrations.
The letter has sparked discussions about festival management and public convenience in Jamshedpur.
As Durga Puja approaches, the community awaits the administration’s response to this appeal.
