RANCHI – Jharkhand braces for inclement weather as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a yellow alert for the region.
The alert, spanning three days, warns of thunderstorms and lightning across several areas.
IMD’s Ranchi center issued four separate yellow alerts on Thursday, October 3.
This weather warning coincides with the start of Navratri celebrations.
The first alert, at 9:28 AM, predicted thunderstorms and rain in Pakur district.
Subsequently, a second warning forecasted light rain for Sahibganj and Godda districts.
Meanwhile, Dumka district received an alert for potential thunderstorms and rain.
Additionally, Jamtara and Latehar districts were warned of impending rain with thunder.
No significant changes in maximum temperatures are expected initially.
However, a gradual decrease is predicted in the coming days.
Mornings and nights are likely to become cooler as minimum temperatures rise.
Ranchi is expected to experience partial cloud cover from October 4.
The capital city may see rain and thunderstorms on October 5.
Maximum temperatures in Ranchi could drop from 31°C to 29°C by October 7.
Minimum temperatures are forecasted to range between 22°C and 23°C.
A local resident remarked, "We’re preparing for a wet start to the festive season and hope that rains do not create an impediment in our enjoyment."
