JAMSHEDPUR – Bank employees across India participated in a one-day strike, voicing concerns over employment practices in the banking sector.
The Joint Forum of Union Bank unions called for the nationwide strike.
Protesters demanded adequate recruitment for all positions in banks.
They also sought regularization of long-serving temporary employees.

Union Bank’s BEFI members demonstrated actively outside branch offices.

Meanwhile, D.N. Singh, President of Singhbhum District Bank Employees Association, praised the strike’s success.
Sujay Ray, General Secretary, also commended the participating workers.
The strike was led by Union Bank unit leaders G.C. Tiwari, Shankar Dayal, and others.
