JAMSHEDPUR – A Jamshedpur-born tech expert will contribute to discussions on agricultural innovation with Prime Minister Modi during his upcoming US visit.
Ranveer Chandra, Microsoft’s Research for Industry MD and Agri-Food CTO, has received an invitation to a crucial roundtable.
The event, titled "Empowering Farmers through Innovation Technology," is scheduled for September 23, 2024, in New York.
Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Kwatra, extended the formal invitation to Chandra.
The ambassador emphasized Chandra’s valuable expertise for the discussions.
Chandra’s roots trace back to Jamshedpur, where he attended Hill Top School.
His father, Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, is a retired Tata Motors officer residing in Mango Vijaya Green Earth.
After his schooling, Chandra pursued higher education at IIT before moving to the US.
A local resident expressed pride in Chandra’s achievements, stating, "It’s inspiring to see a Jamshedpur native contributing to global agricultural innovation."
Prime Minister Modi’s Packed US Itinerary
Modi’s three-day US visit, from September 21-23, includes various high-profile engagements.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri outlined the Prime Minister’s schedule.
Modi will participate in the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday.
On Monday, he will attend the UN’s Summit of the Future in New York.
The Prime Minister’s agenda also includes interactions with foreign leaders and the Indian diaspora.
Modi will meet with US business leaders to discuss collaborations in emerging technologies.
These discussions will focus on AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology.
