JAMSHEDPUR – Congress members in Jamshedpur burned an effigy of Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, protesting his controversial comments about Rahul Gandhi.

The protest took place near Sakchi Gol Chakkar, drawing a significant crowd of party workers and leaders.

Health Minister Banna Gupta led the demonstration, expressing strong disapproval of Bittu’s statement.

Protesters chanted slogans against the Union Minister of State for Railways.

"We will not tolerate such derogatory remarks about Rahul Gandhi," declared Minister Gupta.

He warned of escalated protests if BJP leaders continue using offensive language.

The Congress party accused Bittu of making "inhumane" comments about their leader.

A local party member stated, "This effigy burning is just the beginning if they don’t stop their verbal attacks."

Protesters demanded an immediate apology from the Union Minister.

Growing Tensions

The incident highlights the increasing political tensions between Congress and BJP.

Bittu’s remarks about Rahul Gandhi’s statements in the US sparked the controversy.

He allegedly called Gandhi "the number one terrorist" due to supposed separatist support.

Congress leaders vehemently rejected these accusations, calling them baseless and inflammatory.

Future Implications

The protest in Jamshedpur may signify a shift in Congress’s response strategy.

Party members hinted at more aggressive countermeasures against perceived BJP attacks.

"We’re prepared to take stronger action if necessary," a senior Congress leader warned.

Sources added that the incident could potentially escalate political rivalries in the region.
