Hotel Booking Fraud in Jamshedpur Leads to ₹90,312 Loss

Cybercriminals defrauded a woman from Sonari, Jamshedpur, during a hotel booking, stealing ₹90,312 from her bank accounts.

JAMSHEDPUR – A woman from Sonari, Jamshedpur, was defrauded of ₹90,312 while booking a hotel online.

The incident took place on August 12 when R Kumari, a resident of Special HIB-6 Adarsh Nagar, attempted to book a hotel via the AP Tourism website.

During the transaction, cybercriminals convinced her to make small payments, eventually leading to unauthorized withdrawals.

The criminals managed to withdraw money from both Rashmi’s ICICI Bank account and her brother-in-law Nishant Nairam’s SBI account in Patna.

Following the incident, an FIR was lodged at the Bistupur Cyber Police Station against unidentified persons.
