RANCHI – Jharkhand Congress In-Charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir arrived in Ranchi late Sunday night, where he met with party leaders to gather feedback and discuss the upcoming assembly elections.
On Monday, Mir held another round of meetings with Congress leaders and workers, focusing on the party’s electoral strategy.
During the discussions, Mir revealed that initial talks on seat-sharing among the alliance partners had already taken place, with further rounds needed before a final decision is reached.
He emphasized the importance of coordinating with ally parties to finalize which seats each party would contest in the upcoming elections.
A decision on seat-sharing is expected soon after these meetings.
Mir stated that the goal is not just to contest the maximum number of seats but to ensure that the alliance wins as many seats as possible.
He also assigned specific tasks to Congress leaders as part of the assembly election strategy.
Mir directed the formation of several committees to develop the election strategy and instructed leaders to prepare a draft of the party manifesto by gathering input from the public.
After the meetings in Ranchi, Mir departed for Jammu and Kashmir.
The meetings were attended by key Congress figures including State President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Ministers Rameshwar Oraon and Banna Gupta, former State President Rajesh Thakur, and senior leaders Pradeep Balmuchu and Subodh Kant Sahay.
