JAMSHEDPUR – Kids International School commemorated National Sports Day with an array of sports competitions, cultural programs, and speech contests.
The celebration featured a diverse range of activities, including chess, yoga, badminton, and basketball.
Students from classes 1 to 3 participated in a creative ramp walk, dressing up as their favorite sports personalities.
Older students, from classes 4 to 8, delivered speeches about their preferred sports and competed in inter-class tournaments.
The events included traditional Indian games like kho-kho and kabaddi, alongside more widely recognized sports.
Principal Rukhsar Ayesha addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of National Sports Day and its connection to Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary.
"National Sports Day is celebrated every year to promote sports and physical activities in India," Ayesha stated, emphasizing Major Dhyan Chand’s contributions to Indian hockey.
School Director Syed Rashid Zafar emphasized the event’s role in nurturing children’s interest in sports and supporting their overall development.
The celebration aimed to promote the importance of physical activity and sportsmanship among the student body.
