Meeting focuses on school enrollment, grants, scholarships, and attendance as per directives from District Magistrate Ananya Mittal.

A monthly review meeting of the Education Department was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, following the instructions of District Magistrate Ananya Mittal.

JAMSHEDPUR – As per District Magistrate Ananya Mittal’s directives, a monthly review meeting of the Education Department was conducted in the Collectorate auditorium.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, reviewed key educational activities and initiatives.

Discussions included total student enrollments in schools so far, utilization of school grants for the financial year 2024-25, and expenditure status.

The status of scholarships due to students, the distribution of bicycles, and the list of students’ bank and Aadhaar accounts were also reviewed.

The presence of students and teachers on the e-Vidyavahini portal, verification reports of bank accounts, and the status of the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme were discussed.

Deputy Development Commissioner instructed that all seats in the Chief Minister’s Excellence School should be filled within three days.

During the review, it was found that only 81% of teachers are marking their attendance on e-Vidyavahini.

It was directed that 100% of teachers must record their attendance daily.

The absence of teachers was notably high in Kasturba Gandhi Schools; it was directed that teachers must take prior permission before taking leave.

The review also found that only 68% of students’ attendance is being recorded on e-Vidyavahini.

Schools were instructed to ensure biometric attendance of all students daily.

It was also instructed to ensure that all school children have Aadhaar numbers.

Block Education Extension Officers and Block Program Officers were directed to coordinate with bank managers to ensure the opening of student accounts where forms have been submitted.

During the review of the free textbook distribution, it was found that 91% of distributions were recorded on Vidya Vahini.

It was instructed that all schools complete 100% data entry on e-Vidyavahini within three days.

Block Education Extension Officers were instructed to ensure daily SMS updates from all schools regarding the Mid-Day Meal.

Present at the meeting were the District Education Officer, District Education Superintendent, Principal of the Chief Minister’s Excellence School, Additional District Program Officers, Assistant Program Officers, all Block Education Extension Officers, Block Program Officers, Wardens of Kasturba Gandhi Schools, and all Junior Engineers, among others.
