Tata Steel UISL Hikes Electricity Tariff

New Tariff Rates for Tata Steel UISL LTIS Customers Approved

Tata Steel UISL revises electricity tariff for LTIS, with an increased rate of Rs 4.50 per unit.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel UISL, the electricity provider in Seraikela-Kharsawan, has announced a revision in its electricity tariffs.

The Low Tension Industrial Service (LTIS) tariff has been amended, with new rates approved by the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Initially, LTIS customers were to pay a fixed charge of Rs 150 per kilowatt per month, with an energy charge of Rs 4.15 per unit.

However, the tariff has been updated, raising the energy charge to Rs 4.50 per unit, an increase of 35 paise per unit.

This revised rate is effective from October 2023.

LTIS customers, who receive either a single-phase supply of 230 volts or a three-phase supply of 400 volts, are experiencing this tariff revision after two years.

The approval by the Commission marks a significant change in the energy sector’s pricing structure in the region.

Tata Steel UISL’s decision to revise the LTIS rates indicates an alignment with the current energy market conditions and regulatory requirements.

This move is expected to impact a wide range of industrial customers in the Seraikela-Kharsawan area, emphasizing the importance of efficient energy consumption and budget planning for businesses relying on LTIS.
