Theft in Birsanagar: Retired TELCO Employee’s House Burglarized

Thieves strike at Devendra Singh’s residence while family away for medical treatment.

A robbery occurred at the Birsanagar residence of Devendra Singh, a retired TELCO employee, who has been in Delhi for medical treatment with his family for the past four months.

JAMSHEDPUR – Thieves broke into the Birsanagar home of retired TELCO employee Devendra Singh, who was in Delhi for treatment.

Devendra Singh had left the responsibility of house-watching to neighbor Ramakrishna Rao.

Rao received a call around 2:00 AM from local youths, who noticed household items scattered outside the house.

Upon reaching the scene, Rao discovered that the main door and the locks of three rooms were broken.

Belongings were strewn across the floor, with an inverter left outside.

He immediately informed the Birsanagar police, who conducted an investigation.

It was found that the burglars entered the house by scaling the back wall and cutting the power supply.

A bag of tools used by the thieves was found near the gate, suggesting they fled after learning the family might return soon.

Rao and a family member estimate the value of stolen items to be between ₹4 to ₹5 lakhs.

The police are currently trying to identify the culprits with the help of CCTV footage.
