Youth Arrested in Birsanagar for Illegal Brown Sugar Trade

Police arrest 20-year-old K Kumar in Birsanagar with 17 packets of suspected brown sugar following a tip-off from the Senior Superintendent of Police.

On 23/08/2024, the Senior Superintendent of Police received a tip-off about illegal brown sugar trading being conducted by K Kumar, a resident of Zone No. 03, D Block, near Shiv Mandir in Birsanagar.

JAMSHEDPUR – Acting on a secret tip-off received by the Senior Superintendent of Police, a police team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jamshedpur, swiftly arrested Karan Kumar, aged 20, near Gudia Maidan, Zone No. 1B, in Birsanagar on 23/08/2024.

K Kumar, son of T Singh, was apprehended near a tree close to Gudia Maidan, where a search revealed 17 packets of suspected brown sugar, wrapped in black plastic, weighing a total of 1.30 grams.

The contraband was duly seized, and K Kumar was arrested on the spot.

During interrogation, Karan Kumar confessed to his involvement in the illegal drug trade.

It has also been revealed that Karan Kumar has a prior criminal history.

The items seized from him include:

– 1.30 grams of a substance suspected to be brown sugar

– 01 Samsung mobile phone

– 01 Motorola mobile phone

The police are continuing their investigation to trace any further links to this illegal activity.
