Police Constable Dies on Duty in Seraikela-Kharsawan
55-year-old Krishna Bhagwan Melgandi succumbs to heart attack at Dugni police line
A constable passed away while on duty at the Dugni police line, with officials confirming a heart attack as the cause of death.
JAMSHEDPUR – Constable Krishna Bhagwan Melgandi, 55, died of a heart attack while on duty at the Dugni police line in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The tragic incident occurred around 8 am on Monday morning.
Melgandi, hailing from Purnia village in West Singhbhum district, had been on duty since 5 pm the previous evening.
At approximately 6 am, he had called his wife complaining of feeling unwell but did not inform any officers about his condition.
When his replacement arrived at 8 am, Melgandi requested water, drank it, and then collapsed unconscious.
He was immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Fellow police personnel paid their respects at the police line before the body was handed over to Melgandi’s relatives.
A postmortem examination was conducted prior to releasing the body to the family.
Seraikela police station in-charge Hiralal Kumar confirmed that the cause of death was determined to be a heart attack.
The constable’s sudden demise has left his colleagues and family in shock.
