MLA calls for dialogue on JNAC property use, claims political targeting
Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy addresses allegations surrounding a disputed community building in Shivsingh Bagan area.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has issued a press release denying any exclusive role in allocating a controversial building and calling for proper dialogue on government property use.
Roy stated that he was at the JNAC office for an online foundation stone laying ceremony when confronted by a group of about 100 people.
The MLA claimed the crowd, mostly from outside his constituency, seemed to have political motives to embarrass him.
He emphasized that government asset creation involves multiple stakeholders, not just one MLA.
Roy suggested that targeting him specifically indicates an unhealthy mentality and possible political conspiracy.
Roy noted that a few individuals in the crowd were trying to incite the group against him, chanting slogans.
Recognizing the situation, Roy urged the crowd to present their grievances to the JNAC officials or visit him at his office or residence for further discussion.
However, the crowd was unwilling to listen and seemed intent on creating a disturbance.
Roy observed that most of the people in the crowd were not from his constituency but from Jamshedpur West, Govindpur, Bagbera, and other areas.
He mentioned that a few members of the crowd were related to a former BJP district president from Jamshedpur.
Roy suspected the crowd was organized and driven by ulterior motives, as they were allegedly trying to pressure him to take control of a community building managed by JNAC.
Roy emphasized that such issues should be resolved through dialogue, not coercion, and noted that the creation and use of government assets are determined by the coordination of legislators, MPs, and the administration, not by individual influence.
He expressed concern over what he perceived as a political conspiracy and bias behind the incident, urging the concerned community to avoid becoming part of such schemes and to focus on constructive discussions.
The controversy centers on a building in Shivsingh Bagan, Agrico, originally allocated to the Teli Sahu community.
Members of a specific society allegedly seized the building by breaking its locks two days ago.
The Teli Sahu community claims the land was given to them in 2019, but the completed building hasn’t been officially handed over.
Women representatives attempted to meet Roy at the Access office but claim they were pushed away by his bodyguards.
The community has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, urging immediate action on the issue.
